It's not that I think stupidity should be punishable by death. I just think we should take the warning labels off of everything and let the problem take care of itself.

Stone Four
Need some writing
or photography done?
Idol
I'm ashamed to say that Vince sent this to me nearly right after the performances this week, but I was so exhausted that I couldn't get them posted. And I have family in town right now, so I wasn't able to post yesterday. But I did want to post Vince's thoughts, just in case someone hasn't seen the results show yet:

----------

Well, it was nice to see Diana Ross sober tonight.

BRANDON ROGERS - Can't Hurry Love
Let the trimming begin!! First, it was Sanjaya's eyebrows, then it was Sundance's goatee and now it's Brandon's chest. His rug seems to have been trimmed this week. As for his performance, that too was trimmed down. I felt he impersonated Smokey Robinson with his performance tonight.

MELINDA DOOLITTLE - Home
She definitely feels at home on that stage, as she should. She commands the genre and she commands the audience's attention. A star is born! Let's hope her popularity is as strong as her talent.

CHRIS SLIGH - Endless love
He made this classic sound endless. The song was unrecognizable just like himself without those trademark glasses. Hopefully he can "rearrange" himself for next week.

GINA GLOCKSEN - Love Child
I've got no love for this child and no love for her performance, but she did help put one rumor to rest. Between her looks and her outfit, I guess Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Jackson did have a child together after all.

SANJAYA MALAKAR - Ain't No Mountain High Enough Oh boooyyyy!!! Where do I start? First off, he made Drag Queens look like supermodels tonight. He was competing with Ms. Ross on who had the biggest hair and the dancing, oh God the dancing!! Was he constipated? As for the singing. Where was it? The song and this competition are too big for him, except of course for the hair.

HALEY SCARNATO - Missing You
This girl is the Titanic of emotions. She's always drowning in her own tears. She cries better than her singing. She could always go into acting. I see her in soaps. She is going to get the sympathy vote tonight.

PHIL STACEY - I'm Gonna Make You Love Me You know what? He made me love him a little more tonight. He was more confident, less nervous and it showed.

LAKESHA JONES (KIKI) - God Bless the Child God Bless this child for having that voice. Not only was she blessed with talent, but with grace, humility and beautiful curves!! You go girl!!!

BLAKE LEWIS - You Keep Me Hanging On
This guy keeps us hanging on week after week to see his groovy dance moves, his unique vocal performance and his crazy arrangements. He is original and fun. I personally thoought he did a better job than Chris did with the arrangements of the song.

STEPHANIE EDWARDS - Love Hangover
No hangover here! In fact, not even a buzz! Her performance was as potent as a Shirley Temple. She sang well, but it was forgettable.

CHRIS RICHARDSON - The Boss
I totally agree with Simon on this one. The performance wasn't great, but he has such personality and charm that it overshadows it.

JORDIN SPARKS - If We Hold On Together
Her performance reminded me of 2 artists who were introduced to the American public by singing a song from a movie and made me pay attention the first time I heard them, just like Jordin did tonight. Those artists were Christina Aguilera with Reflection from the movie Mulan and Celine Dion with Beauty and the Beast from the movie with the same title. Fantastic!!

Once again, I hope this is the end of the road for Sanjaya.

Comments
Is it me or does this Chris guy look high? He ALWAYS looked high or stoned. Does AI do drug testing?
I also hate the fact that a lot of the guys adapt this "street" kind of performance, like they've seen one two many hip hop videos, every year there are a couple of guys that do this. It's annoying. Guys make it your own.
Beyond that, the guys simply suck this year.
But the girls are great!
