It's not that I think stupidity should be punishable by death. I just think we should take the warning labels off of everything and let the problem take care of itself.

Jordin Sparks Oh god. Football? I guess she's my husband's new favorite woman. But girlfriend - you are NOT Pat Benatar. This strikes me as a bad song choice. She does have an excellent vocal talent, so that's working in her favor. But still. Maybe I just don't like the song? Actually, as I watch, I think she's doing better - I still don't like the song, but she did do a great job.
Sabrina Sloan Jeez. I'm having trouble understanding the words. And christ this is pitchy. But as TJ noted, she's definitely HOT. And I loved her little vignette pretending to be Katic Couric. Not a very engaging song really, but she certainly showed off her skills. I do think Simon is right - it's too mechanical.
Antonella Boobie Barba Violin, huh? And she teaches lessons? Hmmm. Oh lord, this is terrible. It's not showing off her voice, or her personality. TJ thinks she's as bad as Sanjaya - I don't think it's nearly so awful, but she really needs to go. That was just boring.
Haley Scarnato I think the start of the song was pure "hotel performer", as Simon criticized Sabrina. But the second 1/2 is getting better. She's trying to show off her voice, but the song isn't quite supporting that. I think she can probably do better, but that is probably enough to keep her around. Hmm. "No yo." OK, I'll buy that. I don't think it was horrible, as Simon called it, but I think he's right - she's terribly forgettable.
Stephanie Edwards Now this is a performance. And she always looks so good. And wow what a voice! I think she's really stepped it up this week. She's missed a note or two, I think, but overall a fantastic performance. I think Stephanie is a slam dunk for the top 12. Randy compared her unfavorably to the original artist - I have no ability to do that, so I can't say for sure. Interesting that Simon phrased it as "copycat" - that's definitely a significant weakness.
LaKisha Jones I'm glad she didn't squeeze herself into some odd looking jeans skirt and bright red top this week - that was tragic. In this outfit you can focus on her, her voice, and her performance. Or, I should say, her VOICE. I think that was a VERY tough song to sing - who can compare favorably to Whitney? But it really was the best of the night so far. LaKisha should be in the top 4 before she has a significant challenge.
Gina Glocksen I have to confess, Gina is not my favorite girl. And I'm not gonna like this song, but let's see how she does. The whole thing was just too yelly for me. Randy seems to have liked her - I guess my dislike is more about the song itself than Gina. I imagine she's pretty safely into the top 12.
Melinda Doolittle That was a funny little bit about her OCD. I really like her. And this is gonna be a GOOD performance, I bet. Oh yeah. Homerun, I think. What a fucking incredible voice. And every moment of her performances is always fully involved. I think that performance KILLED LaKisha. And like I said, she seems so nice!!!
Well, I have to say that tonight was MUCH better than last night. The guys just don't stand up well to the girls as a whole.
As for who's going home? It should be Antonella and Haley. Will it? That's a tough call - they're both very attractive and might be able to hang in because of that. As always, check DialIdol.com for predictions!
Doug said: I dont understand this DialIdol site...how can ALL of the guys be predicted to be voted off? It seems last year the site actually MADE predictions...this year its really just a waste of web space...
Doug does make a good point - it's frustrating to see DialIdol predicting that everyone has an equal chance of being booted, but I guess everyone falls within the margin of error. I wonder if the Idol producers changed their phone system this year (added more lines?) to reduce the effectiveness of DialIdol?
Can we just send everyone home except Melinda, Stephanie, and Lakisha? They are the only three who bring it every week.

Let's leave the girls to the straights and deal with more relevant matters.
