Gina Glockson I am ashamed to admit that my husband is a big fan of Gina - because of her boyfriend. Ick. E. Poo. As for tonight, not a good start. Boring. And once she gets revved up, she gets pitchy. I don't think this performance is gonna do it. And what's she doing painting houses on the side? That hair crap has to go. Randy's wrong - it really wasn't a very good performance.
Alaina Alexander She certainly looks nice tonight, but it feels kinda forced, although she seems to be settling in as the song goes on. But now it feels rushed and confused. Like she couldn't quite keep up with the music. Hmmm. I don't think that one's gonna win her any prizes. Randy's right - "it was a mess". Yep.
LaKisha Jones I worry about this song choice - not that she did a bad job, but is it gonna showcase her the way it should? OK, here we go - it only lasted a second, but it was good. I wish she'd had the energetic stuff going longer. I think she has the pipes really to show off, but this didn't quite do it enough. But I still think she's fantastic.
Melinda Doolittle I really like this song, but I don't think it suits Melinda, although she's managing to show off her vocals pretty well - she has a pretty stunning range. But as she gets through it, I think she's really starting to make it her own. That really was amazing, in the end. I think she smoked LaKisha tonight.
CitronellaAntonella Barba I think Antonella has a huge asset that some of the other women don't have - she's really cute. And so is her brother... Anyway, on to her performance. Again, this just isn't getting the job done. It's pitchy in spots, and just isn't compelling. And popping in a falsetto note or two isn't gonna work it out. I think Antonella may have another week because she's so attractive, but that's all that's gonna keep her alive.
Jordin Sparks Pitchy pitchy pitchy - hopefully she can settle down. I have to confess here - my e-mail chirped during her performance, and I was much more interested in checking to see if I'd gotten spam than watching her. It just didn't captivate me. She has, on the whole, a lovely voice, but where's the performance? I'm just not getting it. Am I being unfair? Perhaps. The judges seem to like her. Hmmm.
Latoya London Stephanie Edwards Is it unfair to compare her to Latoya? Probably so. Not that Latoya had a bad voice - quite the contrary - but she never had that fully committed performance that's so important. As far as tonight, I think Stephanie made the wrong song choice - is she getting lost? What is going on? I think she's much better than this performance - mainly because a song like this takes a very special skill that she just doesn't seem to have. Not that she's a bad performer, just that she can't do this. And I think Randy's wrong - she was much better last week. And I'm sorry - Stephanie has to step it up if she wants to be Beyonce. Interesting that Simon really liked it - I just can't agree.
Leslie Hunt Here's another person that I just don't remember. Not a good sign. Let's see how she does. I'm not liking the outfit, if nothing else. Um. Hank thinks Leslie is the worst of the evening. I think he's right. That was just too bizarre for words.
Haley Scarnato Perhaps it's the vodka, but I'm just losing focus here. This just isn't getting it done for me. "Wasn't great"? Ha! It was "bad".
Sabrina Sloan I really like this performance. Great vocal talent - and committed. Wow! She really has an amazing voice. A skootch pitchy, but overall fantastic!
At risk? Probably Citronella and Alaina? Although it's hard to predict these things.
What I find shocking is how Melinda always looks like she is so shocked every time the judges like her. Almost total disbelief. Has this woman never listened to herself? She is great.. as are many of the others. (And then there are Leslie.. and Antonella.. etc.)

I guess since I thought I had Slapped Brad Renfro a couple of days ago, it makes sense to Slap him today.
Brad starred with Nick Stahl in Bully. And I remember a really good performance from Brad in Apt Pupil where he takes advantage of a former Nazi. It's really a creepy little movie. But there's a shower scene you may like.
Brad, to me, is one of those enigmas. He looks absolutely stunning in some pics, but in others just kinda grungy - and not in a "dirty hot" way like Eric Balfour.
in BULLY is where his dancing during the " amateur night go-go boys" scene... he was so promising back then but now i think his a convict.

Isn't this the kid that a few years ago attempted to steal a 45 foot yacht in Fort Lauterdale, Florida? He might have gottten away with it too if only he and his buds had remembered to untie the boat from the dock. Ha-ha! It cost the bad boy $4,000 in damages, and 2 years probation. Too bad he couldn't be both cute and smart. He'd better stay out of more trouble because in prison they'd slick up a tasty morsel like him quicker than you can say "Deliverence".

American Idol - Part Deux
Sorry I'm late posting this, but I was driving through a blizzard. Ah, winter in Colorado. But here we are - I'm visiting Hank in ski country tonight, so he'll be chirping in with commentary here and there.
Phil Stacey He sounds good enough tonight - but he always has good vocal quality. But the performance is just kinda uninteresting. As he gets close to the end it's getting better, but it just didn't do much for me, dog. The last little vocal pop was fun - and quite good - but gimme something else!
Jared Cotter I'm visiting Hank tonight - and Hank is all about Jared. I don't, however, know what he thinks of Jared's singing. Amyway... Boy this is starting out pitchy. And forced. He's settling into the tone, but it still feels mechanical. OK, now it's getting better, but much like Phil - eh? Is that all there is?
A.J. Tabaldo Girlfriend! Oh, and Hank likes A.J. too, he says. I'm liking this performnace. I think he's really committed, and he has great tone and vocal production. Is it a bit pitchy? If so, not much, because it's hard to discern. But the complete package was really good tonight. All the judges hit it right on - especially Simon who said "we saw some personality" - exactly.
Sanjaya Malakar Speaking of "girlfriend"... This song is not a good choice. And he's just coasting through it - not working, not feeling the vibe. And his tone is too airy. He's not showing off anything - not his voice, not his personality, hell, not even his hair! I think ole Sanjaya is going home unless someone else comes out naked with a swastika tattooed on his chest. Jeez - even Paula is struggling for something good to say. Poor thing. I really do like Sanjaya - but say "buh bye".
Chris Sligh OK, Chris is a pretty good performer, I have to admit, but he still kinda bugs me. Maybe he'll work his way through it. Anyway, on to tonight. Wow, it's nice to be reminded of his really nice voice. Not pitchy in the least, just a really nice vocal. And it's a nice, committed performance, although this dancing and bopping is confusing me. But yeah, I think it was good. And I guess I liked the ending, and Randy's right, he has a voice that hangs in there well.
Nick Pedro Um. Who is this guy? Has he been on before? Seriously, this guy just isn't memorable. Even before he sings the first note tonight, I don't think he's gonna make it - he's just not creating an impression. Here he goes... So far, he's not doing anything to stand out. Hank points out that his voice has a cool smoky tone, but agrees that the who thing just isn't really getting the job done. Eh. I dunno - my first impression is that he and Sanjaya are going home. I gotta disagree with Randy, not nearly that good - Simon nailed it: Where's the charisma? Perhaps he kinda fell into something at the end, but whatever. I still think he's one of the ones going home.
Blake Lewis HOT HOT HOT!! Can you tell that Blake is my favorite? Is the outfit over the top? Who cares? Blake always seems to give such a great performance - great tone, great commitment. Really interesting. And his voice is so talented - beyond the tone, he can do amazing things with that mouth. Here's the charisma that Simon was looking for in Nick. Slam fucking dunk. I just have one question: Who is this "Jamir Kwai"? Is that what Randy said? I can't speak to what Simon said - was it copycat?
Brandon Rogers Brandon is definitely one of my favorites - he always seems to have the charisma that's so appealing. Let's see how tonight goes. I can see him trying to commit to this performance, but it's just not quite there. As Hank said, "it just doesn't have any steam in it". Exactly. The tone was fine, but where was the range? The skill? And I like puppies too.
Chris Richardson Chris is definitely one of my favorites, even if he does call his grandmother "big mama". He always seems to be having fun out there. Interesting song choice, I'd say, but so far so good. He has a great voice, shows good range, and really involves himself in his stage presence. Nice! Not as good as Blake, but is that bias? And how did I miss that he was doing a Jason Mraz song? And Hank likes his sweater. Hmmm... Am I starting to think that Chris is cuter than Blake??
Sundance Head As Hank pointed out, Sundance got a lot of votes by talking about missing his wife and son. But let's talk singing - wow! What a fantastic start! This is the Sundance I remember. What an incredible voice! I have to say, that as much as I like Chris and Blake, this is the best performance of the night.
I think this week for the guys was much better than last. And I'm sticking by my predictions that Sanjaya and Nick are toast. Check out DialIdol.com for more accurate predictions.
I agree, I think Blake and Chris are the best out of the boys. I vote Sanjaya gets the boot.
Side note, Blake's song was "Virtual Insanity" by Jamiroquai. It came out in mid-90's. It had a really cool video to go along with it.

My observations:
Sanjaya is painful to watch. The singing is awful, and it's almost like watching a car wreck -- you want to turn away from the scene. And what's with the deer-caught-in-the-headlights timidity? But, plenty of pre-teen viewers to keep him in the mix another week.
While I hope AJ and Jarod are voted off, I'll guess with AJ and Nick.
And Chris is cuter than Blake, although I like them both. And can someone tell me what my eyes kept drifting to Chris' crotch last night?

New e-mail
It's taken a while, but the spammers finally tracked down my new Bent e-mail address. Today alone I've won 2 BMW's and a Powerball Lottery. Woohoo!
Anyway, my new address is "bent4" at the expected domain. "Rob" also works, but that may be going away soon, so it's best just to stick with "bent4".
OK - this is really weird. I was sure that I'd Slapped Brad Renfro a few days ago, and that I'd seen pics of today's Slap Nick Stahl with him in Bully and realized that Nick really needed a Slap too.
But in looking, I realized that I hadn't, in fact, Slapped Brad. I really think my brain is slowly getting cooked. So I guess Brad's coming up soon, huh? But since I started today with Nick, I'm sticking with Nick.
Nick is best known, at least to me, for his role in HBO's Carnivale - even though I've never watched it, his face is the first thing that jumps to mind when I hear of the show. He also played John Connor in Terminator 3, and is rumored to be playing John again in the upcoming Terminator 4.
For what it's worth, if you want to see Nick and all his skin in action (pics after the jump), check out Bully.
I tend to agree with Mark (yuk). Twinkish body, and kind of a dysmorphic looking face, don't ya think?

I actually liked "Carnivale" and I like him as an actor. I just hope he would pick his roles more carefully. In my opinion, the Terminator series has died and his tole in Sin City was quite disgusting.

you should really check out one of his latest independent films, "Night of the Whith Pants" it's pretty funny. all filmed here in Dallas. I have a few good friends in this movie, too. I sat right in front of Nick during the Austin Film Festival, met and talked to him. Amazing person! Easy to talk to and exteremely intelligent. yeah...i got his autograph and a 'meat' shirt he wore in the film. haha. too bad it was HIS meat. xoxo

Nick was twinky looking in "Bully" coz it's an old movie. If you look at the pics from Carnival.. he's become a tall handsome gorgeous man ! Carnival actually got much better in the 2nd season mainly coz they let Nick better use his acting talent, but the 1st season was where the irreversible damage was done.

I just discovered this site! Love it! And I love Nick Stahl! I was at a party here in LA a few years ago, and I swear that Nick was cruising me (i noticed because people don't normally cruise me). I asked his publicist, who gave me a wink but said he didn't know about his persuasion. Another I guy I know with a similar body type/look as me told me he met Nick Stahl at a party too and also got a cruise-y vibe from him.

Today's Slap comes 100% courtesy of Dreamcaps - I was surfing around over there and came across actor Tom Parker and he was hot enough that he needed to be Slapped. Hard. And honestly, there's been a fur drought around here lately, and Tom cures that nicely.
He was on Dreamcaps, reported as having been in What about Brian? with former Slap (and hottie!) Matthew Davis. Honestly, I didn't even know that "What about Brian" is a current show. It hasn't been cancelled has it? It's described by the production company this way:

I don't know anything about the technology, but why are screen caps always so dark, when TV images are so bright? Isn't there some way people who cap images can adjust them brighter?

And yes, I've seen the "nude" pic flying around the web. It is, as far as I can determine, a fake. So don't, um ... get your self in a lather ... about it. Or do, if you want.

As I understand, it's only "filthy, nekkid pictures" that might be considered porn; attending the theater there...or even here... with young Daniel on-stage is OK since it's "artistic expression".
Today I'm doing a re-Slap because I think this guy is just fantastic. Chad Allen isn't the best looking guy I've ever featured (we all know who that is...), but he's definitely a hottie - and he's an out actor hottie.
You may remember Chad from what I suppose was hit "biggest" role, playing Matthew Cooper in Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. During the run of the series, Chad was caught on film making out with another guy at some L.A. party. I wasn't a big fan of DQ, so I don't remember the fallout as it pertained to the show; since then, however, he hasn't had many big roles.
But one of the roles he did get was playing "The Gay Detective", Donald Strachey in hereTV's series of films. Starting with Third Man Out, and continuing last year with Shock to the System (also here).
I just finished watching A Shock to the System and I definitely recommend it. This time around, Donald finds himself deep in the bowels of the gay "conversion therapy" world, surrounded by the usual suspects - an overbearing mother (played wonderfully by Morgan Fairchild), a doctor preaching the virtue of allowing yourself to be straight, and Donald's always adoring (and really cute) husband, Tim (Sebastien Spence).
The story strays to the formulaic on occasion, but never goes for the easy (and over-the-top) cliche, like Queer as Folk always did. And murder mysteries, at least for me, always have a built-in air of unbelievability to them, with the noble private investigator gallantly charging to the rescue, but the Strachey models are always enjoyable. Is it for the simple fact of a gay actor playing a gay detective? Probably. And it certainly doesn't hurt that Chad and his husband are quite the tasty morsels of eye candy. Throw in some subtle (and some not-so-subtle) digs at the conversion therapy industry and you have the makings of a really enjoyable film. I highly recommend checking it out. hereTV is available on quite a few cable systems, either for a monthly fee or pay-per-view.
Update 02/24/2007: D'oh! I forgot to mention that Chad has been one of the more popular requests I've gotten - Eric, Kevin, Sam, Michael and a couple of anonymous folks have requested him over the past 2 years or so.
Thanks for the Chad slap! He's sexy and I love that his career continues to flourish even after being outed.

I think it is great that Chad is telling his story BUT I think it SHAMEFUL that this cover story did not appear in OUT magazine rather than their sister publication The Advocate. OUT Magazine is notorious for featuring almost exclusively straight actors and models on their covers rather than gay men. I have noticed that when OUT magazine has a poignant story about a gay role model, it is always placed in the inside pages and never makes it onto the cover.

Today's Slap goes out to one of the guys on one of my favorite shows, The Real Housewives of Orange County. It's totally a guilty pleasure, but I really do enjoy watching it - and one of my favorites is Jeana's (she's the Realtor) son, Shane Keough.
But I should clarify: Shane is nice to look at, but he comes across as a raging asshole on the show. I understand that creative editing can make anyone on reality TV seem like a jerk, so he may be a great guy - but I kinda doubt it.
The other interesting thing about Shane is that everyone one the show - including his mom - seems to speculate about his sexuality. And frankly, if your mom thinks you might be gay, you really need to take a close look at your continued claims to be straight.
He's rich and can afford a brand new audi as well as college AND gets offered a scholarship just for hitting a ball? And they say the this country is all about equal opportunity. Sorry, he's pretty, but I cant get past the privileged asshole thing, especially as I stare at my student loan bill :P

Contrary to what some here have said, I think a lot of his features could preserve well later down the track. It's possible he'll turn out to be an attractive older man, sort of like a James Denton type of masculinity.
And no, I don't think he's gay - far from it. Those earings look like an attempt for a "bling bling" look which Usher made fashionable. Plus he hasn't given any indication he's not straight. IMO, it's shallow to just speculate from someone's looks.

Does it say something about me that I only recognize one of the girls? Hmmm. You be the judge. Anyway, here we go...
Stephanie Edwards What a nice soulful sounding voice. I'm not terribly impressed with the performance as a whole, but I'm sure that will improve over the course of the show. I think she's got potential because of her voice. Or she could end up as another Latoya - beautiful voice, but uninvolved performances. I have to disagree with the judges - I don't think it was nearly that good a performance. My husband asked me to re-watch Stephanie, and perhaps I was too harsh the first time through, but I still wasn't terribly impressed.
Amy Krebs At first blush, she sounds a bit pitchy - and I'm not impressed with the song choice at all. As she got into the chorus, the pitchiness seems to have been fixed for the most part, but it's a very underwhelming performance. Snooze.
Leslie Hunt All of a sudden my husband likes her -- because she's a dog walker. She's of very little interest to me, but I guess we'll see. My first impression is that she looks very uncomfortable on stage - like she doesn't quite to know what to do with herself. And that voice just isn't gonna cut it.
Sabrina Sloan I missed this one, but she was nothing to write home about, was she? Oh wait - they said she was the best of the competition so far. I guess I better watch her. Hang on. OK, that was quite a good performance - great voice, good involvement, quite entertaining. She's got a long road ahead of her, I think.
Antonella Barba Again, I have to disagree with the judges a bit - I don't think it was nearly as bad as they said it was, but I have to say it certainly wasn't "good". It was definitely pitchy, but I think the beginning of the performance was OK - just OK. Once she stood up from her stool, however, it all fell to pieces. She was sunk by the gravity of the entire thing. Like Ryan trying to do the news... Maybe it was as bad as the judges said.
Jordin Sparks Too breathy at the start, but she seems to be settling down. I really enjoy the sultry quality of her voice, actually. And I like the involvement. That was quite a finish, actually - I think she'll do well in this. And I think the judges are right - no song is too big for her. She can really stretch herself if she tries.
Nicole Tranquillo I think this is a dreadful song choice. Way too funky for her. Well, am I gonna have to take that back? She's getting better as it goes along. Still, I don't think she filled it up. And fine - Paula's right, she hit the notes. Meh. Simon and Randy hit it spot on.
Haley Scarnato Haley seems to have quite a nice voice, and she's certainly attractive. But - I know I sound like a broken record - the performance seems very indicated. The arm motions, the faux dancing, the finish - all of it, feels too cabaret.
Melilnda Doolittle I have to confess - I really like Melinda. She's just so cute and nice and unassuming. I hope she goes a long way. She has quite a powerful voice, and some fun personality is definitely showing through on stage - and that's so important. Honestly, I am shocked to see this kind of performance from her - she seems so meek and shy in her interviews - but I love it! Go girl!
Alaina Alexander Pitchy pitchy pitchy. Good god, this is terrible. This is a perfectly ordinary performance. Way too karaoke for me. I don't know what else to say. I'm speechless. OMG - Simon asked the exact same question I did.
Gina Glockson Again we have pitchiness. And this just isn't a good song choice - especially for the first week. You have to do a ballad at some point, but first time out it seems like upbeat is the way to go. This is just uninspiring in the extreme. And that big high note is just super duper, but who cares?
LaKisha Jones Wow - this chick has a powerful voice. And I think this song does a great job of showing it off. I'm a bit concerned that her performance might be just a skootch over the top? I dunno, I'm kinda torn about that. What do you think? Wow - Simon thinks the other people should pack up? Quite the endorsement!
Tonight, I think it was about LaKisha and Melinda. I'll be interested to see what happens tomorrow. And be sure to check out DialIdol.com if you're interested in seeing predictions for who'll be voted off.
I think this is going to be a female dominated show, unless the guys step it up about 50 fold. The women are in it to win, the guys were either just to laid back or just trying to get their 15 minutes. I do not want to play the race card but the white chicks were singing all over the place, hmmmm. Did some tell some of these girls yea sing it an octave lower, it will show your personality. Now if one of the guys would sing 'I am telling you' they might just have a chance. Thats my 2 cents.
In doing some quick research today, I noticed that I'd never Slapped today's honoree, actor Brad Rowe.
You may remember Brad from his turn as the inimitable Gabriel in Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss. Brad had a brief run in a failed TV series called Wasteland and has had a bunch of guest appearances on various shows. And he was in a movie called Full Frontal which, I'm guessing, does not live up to its title.
I have to confess to watching Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss more than once - he looked almost perfect in it. Yes, I know he shaves - apparently he's quite the fur ball, and some of the pics after the jump hint at that - but he looks so good smooth he'd be nearly impossible to turn down.

Brad Renfro on the other hand has not matured well since his child actor days...too much partying and drugs...see "Bully" which has some nice skin scenes, but he's not that Slap worthy (yet).

American Idol is back!
I posted about each Idol night last year, so I figure I'll do it again this year. And hopefully, there will be some good Slap material again this year like Ace Young and Chris Daughtry.
Rudy Cardenas He's cute, but I'm not sure how good I think his singing is yet. He has a nice engaging stage presence, and is always nice and perky in his interviews, but fundamentally, I think he's a lightweight. Randy made a good point - it's tough to be the first out of the gate on the first night.
Brandon Rogers Brandon clearly has an excellent voice - as my husband put it he has shades of Peabo Bryson and George Benson. He wasn't quite as engaging as I thought he should be, he could have been more "there". But I think he has a chance to go a very long way. I'm looking forward to watching him again.
Sundance Head God, Sundance needs to lose that odd looking squirrel stuck to his chin. For what it's worth, my husband thinks he's cute - I do not. OK - Moody Blues? NOT a good choice. Pitchy and boring. And I like Moody Blues. And his performance wasn't the least bit engaging; I'd have to call it aloof. I hope he's already established a fan base out there, cuz he's gonna need 'em.
Paul Kim Barefoot boy. Oy. Is this him looking for a gimmick that will make people remember him? Just fucking sing, dude. What, exactly is he doing with his hand?? This is a terrible performance so far - totally karaoke. Indicating from start to finish. He seems to be on pitch, but his tone is terrible. Buh bye.
BTW, Simon makes a good point - this is NOT the time to play it safe. If you took a risk in the original audition, you need to take the same risk now.
Chris Richardson He looks nervous - of course, who wouldn't be? But it's coming through in his motions on stage. Yikes - his voice sounds sketchy and pitchy. And like it's cracking. He seems to be taking a bit of a risk with the performance, which is always good, but honestly it just feels manic. In kind of a Taylor Hicks way - and I don't mean that in a good way. Oh, he's definitely cute!
Nick Pedro Nick here is kinda cute too. None of them are Ace Young cute, but they're getting it done... Yikes! Pitchy start, though it's getting better. He had an OK tone, I guess. The performance? Yawn.
Blake Lewis Beat box boy. I like him! Yes, I think he's cute. Duh. First impression is a good one - good tone, good pitch, good performance. Is it original enough? Probably not, but it's the first night. Best of the night so far. I agree with Simon - I like the beat box, but don't do it every night. This performance was great!
Sanjaya Malakar Um. Pitchy called. This is way too weak - not involved. Very nervous. And I like Sanjaya - I hope he can survive until next week and have one more chance to pull it together.
Chris Sligh I like Chris - he's a good singer, always on pitch, good tone and an involved performance. I got a bit irritated when he started in on the "everyone looks pretty" tonight - that's just too easy. I have to disagree with Simon in this case - I think it was a very solid performance. Not as good as Blake, but he was right in there. And I think he's going to go a long way because he picks good songs - I think that's 1/2 the battle.
Jared Cotter Um. Why would a restaurant fire someone like Jared? It seems like the goal would be to trick Jared into mentioning your restaurant on a show as popular as Idol. But some people are stupid, I suppose. Perhaps we could convince Chuck Schumer and Barbara Boxer to propose a "American Idol Leave Act". (Just kidding, Kip.) Anyway, Jared's performance was just kinda blah to me. He sounded fine, but just didn't engage me.
A.J. Tabaldo Eh. Honestly, I can't write much about this guy because I checked out about 3 seconds into the performance. Snooze.
Phil Stacey Good heavens - that was terrible. Pitchy. Bad tone. Not invested. It's getting better slowly, but I don't know if he can recover from that start. Randy: Best vocal??? I don't think so. That's a bit of a stretch. Perhaps I was blinded by the beginning? Yeesh. "Monstrous" is about the size of it. And is it just me, or does he need an ear tuck?
Looking back, I have to say that my favorites of the night were Brandon and Blake. Ladies tomorrow night!
I thought they all sucked. I didn't think one stood out as exceptionally talented or as exceptionally cute. Maybe one of the women is a stand-out but I think this year, the guys are unimpressive.
Isn't Chris Richardson the openly gay one who used to be in a boy band? If so, maybe I'll vote for him. Some others pinged my gaydar, especially Sanjaya. I wonder if he's out?

Let's cool it with the sterotyping. The hottest guy I ever met (6'2", blond, Joiner type)had a Phd and was a chemical researcher. And he surfed. OK, it doesn't happen often but...
Ages and ages ago - yes, that long - Squeaky wrote to suggest Bear Grylls as a Slap. Bear, you see, was just starting a new series on the Discovery Channel called Man vs. Wild and the promos were looking pretty hot. Way back then, however, it was hard to find pics of Bear to post.
Now his show has been on for a bit, and screen caps are much easier to come by. I was going to do the caps myself, but Superherofan over at Dreamcaps saved me a bunch of effort by posting a great selection, including some pics of Bear doing naked push-ups in the snow. Alas, Discovery felt compelled to blur out the interesting bits, but what can you do? Maybe some kind Discovery Channel will "accidentally" leak the unedited footage. Probably not, I suppose, but a guy can dream.
Anyway, in case you're wondering, the premise of Man vs. Wild is that Bear gets dropped in the middle of nowhere with a AA battery, some chewing gum and a shoelace and has to get out. Oh wait, I think that's another show. Actually, he does get dropped in the middle of nowhere with limited survival gear (and a camera crew) and shows you how to survive and escape. It's actually pretty interesting. And he doesn't appear shy about stripping off, even if he doesn't do it enough. And there are more episodes due out this season, so perhaps we'll get some more good shots. Stay tuned!

Brothers & Sisters
Speaking of gay brother Kevin on Brothers & Sisters, I have to confess that I've spent way too many hours over the past couple of days "catching up" on B&S.
Using ABC's fabulous streaming player, I managed to watch every episode since the beginning of the season. And I really find it to be a fantastic show. If for no other reason than they have a gay character that actually goes on dates, and has guys sleep over. In some spots it is, perhaps, a bit too formulaic and predictable, but overall it's quite enjoyable.
So if you're looking for a mid-season addition to your lineup, it's definitely worth checking out the Walker family.
Since I Slapped Jason Lewis yesterday, and showed a few pics of him sucking face with a guy, I thought today was as good a day as any to Slap the suck-ee, Welsh actor Matthew Rhys.
Matthew, of course, has been busy lately playing gay brother Kevin in Brothers & Sisters. It was only in the last couple of episodes that he finally took his shirt off and gave us a good look - and let's all give a big thanks to ABC for making so many episodes available online!
Matthew has been in a number of other films, but I don't really recognize any of them except for Elizabeth.
As for his looks, I have to say that I find him terribly cute. I'd almost call him "adorkable", but I'm not sure that's appropriate. Is he really "dorky"? I guess he is, but he doesn't seem to fit what I think of as adorkable. "Ageekable"?
Not dorky at all - though I haven't seen the show. Actually, quite nice eye candy. Thanks!

Everyone should give the show a try, it is fast moving with great storylines.Plus, they just don't blow off the gay ones, the gay characters are almost in every episode.
Today we're re-visiting a Slap from nearly two years ago, and since I found some new pics of this hottie I thought a re-Slap was worth a go, and Thom thought so too, since he was the one who gave me the idea.
I imagine you'll remember Jason Lewis as the "Absolut Hottie" from Sex and the City. And lately he's been spotted smooching on Matthew Rhys from Brothers & Sisters (after the jump). Jason's also been in a number of movies, but I don't recognize any of them.

I'm kind of embarassed to Slap actor Michael Pitt today, since I just Slapped his co-star Louis Garrel yesterday, but hell I just Slapped his co-star yesterday, so it makes sense. And it was easy to find pictures, and since I had the conference call from hell for most of the day today, I needed something easy.
So Michael Pitt it is, and he shows some nice skin - including an occluded frontal shot - in the pics from The Dreamers after the jump. And he's kinda cute, don't you think? He has a certain amount of "skankiness" that's pretty hot, but I guess if I really want skank, I'm still gonna go for Eric Balfour if I can...
You may also remember Michael from Murder by Numbers with Ryan Gosling and Sandra Bullock. He's got a couple of projects in development, but as for what's currently out there, The Dreamers seems to be your best bet for skin.
He is sexy, yet his face isn't classically handsome or very cute in my opinion. It does have a smoky, sensual appeal about it....and the body doesn't hurt either!

Today's random hottie is Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir. Here he's doing something or other in New York. Towleroad has the details.

The reason he's appearing suddenly today is that I just saw the trailer for Hannibal Rising, and damn if Hannibal wasn't a hottie in his younger days!

I am pleased - and, I confess, a bit surprised - to announce that Daniel Radcliffe is the winner of January's Slap of the Month voting. Surprised? Yes, surprised. I definitely think that Daniel is looking mighty fine, but there were hotter guys in the running this month. Personally, I voted for Jason Bateman - with that beard he just looks fabulous - unfortunately, I was one of only 10 people to vote for Jason. Regardless, Daniel is the first to move along as a finalist for Slap of the Year - and his runner-up Nick Auger will go along too!
As much as Hairy Potter is growing nicely into his adulthood, I find it very difficult to believe that he legitimately won Slap of the Month. Unless, of course, this is the case of the frontrunners dividing the vote and the dark horse coming up the middle to win. Get it -- "dark horse", "Equus"? Ha! I kill myself!
I'm also surprised that he won. He's an average kid with a geeky face, and nothing more than that. I agree with those who suspect some "orchestration," especially considering that he had strong competition this month.

Today's Slap comes courtesy of Kip, who has had some rather more dubious Slap suggestions in the past, but further redeems himself today. David Tennant is probably best known for playing Doctor Who #10 (I think it was #10, anyway). He also played Barty Crouch Junior in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Honestly, I have to confess that as big a sci-fi geek as I am, I never watched Doctor Who, so I wasn't really tuned into David. He really has a certain adorkability to him, doesn't he? And I was able to find some OK skin shots, including a full-frontal, which was a nice surprise.
He's extremely hot, and not in the typical AF way, which is the rarest kind of hot.

Regular Slapping resumes today!
I apologize for missing yesterday's Slap - it was not, as you might be wont to guess - a 2-day hangover. At least not an alcohol hangover. I stayed up until 4am in my drunken stupor, and yesterday I just couldn't quite get myself together. On top of that I had some family obligations and a firewall that I had unknowingly configured to keep myself out. And finally there was an "incident" early Sunday morning that I was still busy sorting out in my head on Monday - I thought I wasn't upset about it, but as I considered it more, I realized that it had affected me more than I thought originally.
Fun.

Akshay seems to be of the furry variety, even though the shaving craze seems to have hit India too - though perhaps not as badly as it's hit the U.S. But I think in this case, shaving might be in order - some of those pictures after the jump kinda look creepy...
Regardless, I think Akshay here is basically hot. And I'm sure Al agrees with me... What do you think?
Last time I did this it wasn't terribly well received, but I'm a bit more optimistic about today's try.

Here we go, another round of voting! Looking over the list of names, January was a pretty damn good month! There were a couple of younger guys in Ed Speleers and Daniel Radcliffe; there was some nasty in Eric Balfour; some really good fur in Peter Krause; and a Bollywood hottie or two including Hrithik Roshan and Vikas Khanna (although I guess Vikas isn't technically Bollywood, is he?).
I can't remember a more varied month off the top of my head - so let's hear it! Who's January's best?

As much as Hairy Potter is growing nicely into his adulthood, I find it very difficult to believe that he legitimately won Slap of the Month. Unless, of course, this is the case of the frontrunners dividing the vote and the dark horse coming up the middle to win. Get it -- "dark horse", "Equus"? Ha! I kill myself!
I'm also surprised that he won. He's an average kid with a geeky face, and nothing more than that. I agree with those who suspect some "orchestration," especially considering that he had strong competition this month.

Anyway, on to her performance. Again, this just isn't getting the job done. It's pitchy in spots, and just isn't compelling. And popping in a falsetto note or two isn't gonna work it out. I think Antonella may have another week because she's so attractive, but that's all that's gonna keep her alive.
