Today's slap is Kerr Smith, who's best known (to me at least) for playing Jack, the gay character in Dawson's Creek. In addition to palling around with Dawson as his token gay friend, Kerr can be seen as a gay fireman in Broken Hearts Club, among other things.

Kerr's character became a whitelighter last season (a guardian angel for witches) on Charmed. As it has been renewed for an 8th season (debuting 9/25) there is every possiblity his character could be brought back.

OK, I think I'm caught up on all of my e-mail. Did I miss anyone? If so, I'm not sure what happened, so definitely bounce me again... And if I slapped someone that you suggested and didn't mention your name, yell at me about that too. I just cleared out about 100 e-mails and I'm sure I missed something.
Today's slap is The Big Easy - New Orleans. Right now they're being clobbered by one of the most powerful hurricanes in more than a century. Home to Jazzfest, Southern Decadence and an epic Mardi Gras celebration, and some of the most interesting historical places in the country, here's hoping that at slap-time tomorrow the city has survived.

it seems that God "destroyed" more of the South, this time Mississippi and Louisiana, because of evangelical Christian groups that regularly demonstrates against LGBT events. The Lord has decided to strike back at those who preach hate in His name, and is continuing to strike horrific blows against the red states especially Florida for the Bush elections. With Katrina, he spared the gays again, in South Beach and Miami, and crushed into the redneck anti gay states of Louisiana and Mississippi, where hate is promoted in churches everywhere. This is a sad justice. It is also seen in the strikes against the Boy Scouts of America this summer, with tragic losses and death in that homophobic/hate mongoring group. The city of New Orleans, was to host a gay festival this Labor Day. Instead, all the gays were spared by the Lord, spewing His wrath and destruction against the hate preaching fundamentalist red State Christians before the event was to take place. God acts in strange ways, and, it is very sad when the very people who should be preaching love in His name, are being punished for abusing religion.
OK. So maybe he's more of a grower than a shower. The man is still sexy.

Jerry Falwell finds Christian values?
Via GayOrbit came this shocker: Jerry Falwell supports equal civil rights for homosexuals. I didn't see this myself, but apparently Jerry was on MSNBC with Tucker Carlson and had this to say:
...civil rights for all Americans, black, white, red, yellow, the rich, poor, young, old, gay, straight, et cetera, is not a liberal or a conservative value. It‘s an American value that I would think that we pretty much all agree on.
Yeah, he said it as though he always held that belief. (To clarify, he was talking about things like protection against housing discrimination.) But, I think we all know he wouldn't have said that 10 years ago.

I always remembered Falwell as one of the virulently anti-gay voices in America. This amounts to a sea change for him.
Today's slap, suggested by Kip is Westlife member Mark Feehily. I would have slapped him anyway, but Mark gets and Extra Special Slap (TM) for recently having the courage to come out. In an interview with The Daily Mirror the 25-year old member of the Irish boy band said "I am gay, and I'm very proud of who I am. I'm not asking for sympathy or to be a role model for someone else. I simply felt it was the right time to tell the truth."

He seems a nice enough guy. I don't find him particularly attractive. I think for many people he carries the added cachet as the footie superstar. In the US you just don't get any mileage out of that so he's relatively underexposed and unknown.
Today's slap is the hottest guy in music, Justin Timberlake. Justin easily makes my list of top 5 guys - I mean, is there anything wrong with him? He's flawless in nearly every way that I can see.

Sticking with the BattlestarGalacticahotties theme for one more day, today's slap is Tahmoh Penikett, better known to BG fans as "Helo". BG hasn't shown (that I remember) Helo with his shirt off, but I did manage to come up with a couple of skin pics. BG does do a good job of showing his arms, though. [SPOILER] For those who like looking at Helo, a picture I came across during my search leads me to believe that he'll be upgrading from "regular guest" soon -- there's a great shot of his arms as he and Starbuck and others play in the poker game on Galactica.[/SPOILER]

Today's slap is a blast from the past - Matt Lanter. You may remember Matt from Bravo's Manhunt - he was one of my favorites from very early on (I think he had the best face), but was booted for being "too fat". Hmmm. Anyway, according to Dreamcaps [free registration req.] Matt is going to be on the new Geena Davis show this fall: Commander in Chief. I don't know if I'll be able to stand the show, but I'll give it a try if Matt is a regular.

Today's slap is the absolutely adorkable Paul Campbell. I hesitate to call him a star of Battlestar Galactica, but he's on the show regularly. He's been in a few other movies, but I can't tell you anything about them. I certainly hope that his role in BG will get him a few more roles - I'd love to see more of him...
David wrote to suggest today's slap, David Fumero, among others. It turns out that I've posted David Fumero before, but under someone else's name - I can't even remember who or when. Anyway, Cuban-born actor David Fumero is know for one thing: One Life to Live, where's he's been playing "Cristian Vega #2" since 1998. I don't watch the show, so I can't tell you if he's any good or not, but he certainly is nice to look at.

Today's slap, at the LONG-ago suggestion of John -- and the recent suggestion of Sara -- is Naveen Andrews, star of last season's hit by creator JJ Abrams Lost. On a non-slap note, I really appreciated Lost - because it is, for lack of a better word, Alias with better character development.
Anyway, Naveen definitely doesn't fit into my typical "type", but there's something kinda hot about him. And his character on Lost is fantastic.
Following up on the Dukes of Hazzard theme, today's slap (again suggested by Ryan) is Johnny Knoxville. He's probably best known for writing and appearing in Jackass, but I'll definitely remember him standing next to yesterday's slap Seann William Scott.
Today's slap, in order to try to keep up with Joseph Sayers, is star of the currently-playing Dukes of HazzardSeann William Scott. Ryan suggested Seann and his co-star Johnny Knoxville a few days ago, but I've been so slammed that I just couldn't get it done. Anyway, here's SWS - JK soon.

Huge disappointment after Sayer's day yesterday... why not just one Joe a day for the rest of the month? It would make Slap of the Month voting SOOO easy!!!
I was recently reminded by Nick that I've never slapped Joseph Sayers. Shocking. Simply shocking. Well, today I remedy that appalling oversight. Here is Joseph Sayers. Now before you say "Oh my god, dude, you like totally missed like a billion pictures of him on the web" or "You fucked up. Here are more pics." realize that I didn't include a ton of pics for 2 reasons:
1) I've heard some of the pics are owned by someone who vigorously enforoces his copyright - I leave it to others to post those (I hope none of mine are in said collection).
2) If I posted every pic I could find of Joseph, we'd all be here for the rest of the week, posting and drooling.
So with that said, you can find all the Joseph Sayers that you can handle here.
Oh, and if you don't know who Joseph is, who cares? He's hot! But if you must know he's a model, including campaigns for Calvin Klein and Abercrombie, among many others.

Today's slap is "Crew" - a gay sports bar in Chicago.
How on earth did a bar get to be a slap? Well, it started when John noticed yesterday's slap of the rowers in Chicago. He happened to be in town on business and we ended up getting together at Halsted Market Days; we met John & his partner and friends of his and Ben's on Halsted street and managed to have a couple of beers and some chatter before my bedtime rolled around - yes, I'm that lame. Anyway, one of my husband's fondest dreams is to open a gay sports bar, so as he chatted with one of John's friends (John, does Tom have a blog?) he pried out of him the information that Crew (catchy web address, isn't it?) is the best gay sports bar in Chicago.
Well, after the beach today, we decided to pay a visit. Even I - farthest thing in the world from a sports nut - was impressed. We had a great time chatting with Steve (one of the owners) and staring at Todd (one of the hottie bartenders). The drinks, including the homemade sangria and beergarita were great and the foot was outstanding - I was especially impressed with the "fudge packin sundae". So if you find yourself in Chicago, pay a visit - whether you're a sports fan or not, you're sure to enjoy it.
Oh, and they have a jock-strap contest on the 4th Friday of every month. I didn't see the contest, but the flyer looks hot. Next time, I'm checking it out.
I was at Crew yeaterday after the fest trying to "sober up" after Market Days. It's one of the best bars in Chicago....and yes....the jockstrp contest is always a blast!

Due to technical difficulties, today's slap is late and rather limited, but still totally hot. We came across some hot guys rowing on the river yesterday and had to share. God, I remember the hot rowers from high school. Mmmmmmmm.
Today's slap, as suggested by Stu, is Will Kemp. You may remember him from Van Helsing, among other things. Apparently he started out as a ballet dancer and moved on to bigger, although not necessarily better (yes, I thought Van Helsing sucked), things. You may also remember him as the object of your affection in the window at Gap. I remember nearly being run over as I caught sight of his poster in the window and couldn't look away - even for traffic. I'm not sure he's Slap of the Month material, but he's awfully fetching nevertheless.
Those smoldering eyes and scruffy look are hot! And you can watch that great ballet-toned booty dance around on DVD: Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake, and The Car Man.
Today's slap is the absolutely incomparable Tom Welling, widely known as Superman in Smallville. Lex reminded me that I have neglected Tom for far too long, so here he is.
Tom is starting to overtake Ryan Carnes in my top 5 list -- he's still well behind Jamie Bamber, though. Speaking of Jamie, I need to post about him again too - Battlestar Galactica is back for another season (or at least part of one) and I'm obsessed again...
UPDATE: Adam was kind enough to send along a few extra - HOT! - pictures of Tom for everyone to enjoy. Yum yum yum. He looks especially good in chains!!

He's been in a bunch of movies, but I have to say I don't ever remember seeing him - he's not my usual type, but he's definitely pretty hot. He's got an especially smoking body.
